We will update our activities here after the club's plans for 2011 are final.
The Heart of Texas Hoedowners, Inc., a non-profit dance organization, was established in the summer of 2001 to promote the enjoyment of
country/western music and dance in the Austin, Texas area.
The group works to provide a comfortable dance environment and organized learning opportunities to the gay- and lesbian-friendly community. Although events are conceived with this segment of the central Texas population in mind, the group does not discriminate. As a diverse, inclusive club, we enthusiastically invite everyone to join us and participate in our activities. We are dedicated to preserving a safe, fun environment where dance positions are not gender-defined.
Our 2012 membership drive is on. Our community service activities are largely determined by the size of our membership, so please consider joining to help us support the community as well as to have a great time. Find us on Facebook to see what we're up to next!
The Rusty Spurs: Our home in Austin
You'll usually find some Hoedowners at The Rusty Spurs Saloon and Dance Hall where you can experience three entertainment venues in one: Rusty's country-western side, the more laid-back Lounge at Rusty Spurs, and The Patio for high-energy contemporary beats.
The Rusty Spurs also shows its support by frequently hosting community service events and activities.
